Right in the middle of Borrowdale is Castle Crag. It is a fairly small, but perfectly formed little peak, which has managed to resist the erosive forces of the valley glacier and remains to this day holding its head high above the trees.

A walk around and up to its summit is a unique experience. From its top you can peer up and down the Borrowdale valley, taking in the amazing vistas. Then, from its flanks you can experience the intimacy and quiet of the surrounding woods and riverbanks.
